Practical consequences: a damage case

The following damage case illustrates the unexpected consequences of spraying imidazole fungicides in some sensitive crops. Six months old plants of an A. andreanum cv., grown on an NFT-system, accidentally received prochloraz with the irrigation solution for several weeks so that the fungicide accumulated in the substrate. These plants developed a very high number of basal shoots and had a normal, well developed root system.
