| In anther culture the physiological status of the mother plant is very important (e.g. photoperiod, temperature, use of pesticides, etc). Anthers should be taken from flowers produced during the beginning of the flowering period. In some cases higher yields of embryos have been reported from donor plants grown under short days and high light intensities. |
