Synthetic seed |
| Synthetic or artificial seeds are single encapsulated somatic embryo's. Frequently the term 'embling' is used for the plants originated from synthetic seeds. Frequently Na-alginate is used for the encapsulation of the embryo. Also new self-breaking gel beads have been developed. Until now the quality and fidelity of somatic embryo's are the limiting factors for development and scaling up of artificial seed production. |
